Robert Shoultz
August 24, 1943 — August 28, 2025
Robert L. Shoultz, 82, of Chillicothe, Ohio, went to be reunited in Heaven with his loving wife, Nancy, on August 28, 2025 after passing away peacefully at The Ashford Memory Care Unit in Grove City, Ohio. After marrying on November 24, 1962 he and Nancy (nee Rinehart) spent 58 loving years together before she passed away in 2020.
Born August 24, 1943, in Chillicothe, to his parents Marjorie (Denewitz) Kuhn and Robert Shoults, he was raised by his grandparents, Dewey and Roxie Denewitz and grew up alongside his Aunt Jean (Denewitz) Aber (John) and Uncle Ed Denewitz who were more sister and brother to him, all who preceded him in death along with his half-sisters Marilyn (Kuhn) Brown (Norris) and Judy (Kuhn) Maddox (Bill), and half-brother Duke Kuhn.
He is survived by his children Kevin Shoultz (Melissa), Karen Martin (Chuck) and Todd Shoultz (Candace), grandchildren Anna and Michael Shoultz, Brooke (King) Bailey (Jerrod), Christopher King, and honorary grandson Daniel Shoults, and several great-grandchildren, along with his only surviving Aunt, who loved him like a brother, Vivian (Denewitz) Bowles (Bob), and his half-brother Bobby Shoults, whom he met later in life but had an instant connection and felt like they had known each other all their lives.
Bob, as he was affectionately known to everyone, never knew his own father but he made it his purpose in life to be a loving husband, father, mentor and friend to everyone he knew. He was a graduate of Chillicothe High School class of 1962, and soon after graduation served in the Navy on the aircraft carrier, USS Shangri-La.
He returned home to become a pillar of the Chillicothe community, where he chose to spend his life raising his family and running his Nationwide Insurance Agency. Throughout his lifetime, he took on the roles of Cubmaster, youth sports coach, Sunday School Superintendent, Chillicothe City Councilman and later Chillicothe City Council President. He was a long time faithful member of Westside Nazarene Church and later at Brookside Church.
Visitation will be held at Haller Funeral Home, Friday, September 5, 2025 from 11:00 to 1:00, with the funeral at 1:00, followed by a military graveside service at St. Margaret cemetery.
