Robert A. "Bobby" Shaw, 84, of Chillicothe, died at 2:15am May 14, 2025, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born June 3, 1940, in Ross Co., to the late Carl C., Sr. and Clara (Coey) Shaw. On February 25, 1966, he married the former Sharon F. Emrich, who survives.
Also surviving is their daughter Robin Shaw, of Chillicothe; grandsons Joe (Heather) Speakman, of Chillicothe; Ryan (Sara) Speakman, of Kingston; and great-grandkids: Joselyn, Presley, Adilyn, Kai, Gabriel and Jessup. He was predeceased by his parents; a stillborn great-grandchild; a great-grandchild Eloise Speakman; a brother Carl C. Shaw, Jr.; and a sister and brother-in-law Helen (Glenn) Callam.
Bobby was a graduate of Centralia High School where he played basketball and scored over 1000 points (before the 3-pt line). He spent his career in the paper industry as a maintenance supervisor first at Chilpaco and later retired from Bay West Paper. He served his country in the US Army from 1963 – 1965.
Bobby was a sports fan and an avid golfer. He belonged to the Chillicothe Jaycees Golf Course and Royal Highlands Golf Club in Leesburg, FL. He was a member of Scioto Lodge No. 6, F & AM, the Aladdin Shrine Club, the American Legion, Post 62, and was an Ohio State Buckeye fan.
The family would like to give special thanks to National Church Residences Hospice and Village Home Heath.
At his request, cremation services will be held under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. The family is planning a memorial service at a later date.
