Robert Sewards

Robert Isabo Sewards, 84, of Chillicothe, died 6:02 am, June 30, 2012, at Westmoreland Place Nursing Home. He was born October 30, 1927 in Richmond Dale to the late Elmer and Rosa Johnson Sewards. He married the former Edith E. Scales, and they have shared 62 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Randy, Benjamin, Dennis and Monica Sewards; step-children, Tecoyit and Helen Scales; nine special grandchildren; several great, and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Myers Sewards; a sister, Betty Mickey; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Timothy Sewards; two brothers, Gilbert and Stanford Sewards and four sisters, Mary Smith, Sarah Netter, Dora Luckett and Georgia Jackson. Mr. Sewards retired from Kenworth Truck Company. He was a member of New Life Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 12-2 pm Tuesday at Haller's.
