Robert Robinson

Robert J. Robinson Sr., was born April 27, 1934 in Gary, WV to Matthew Goins and Dora Mae Robinson. He is a graduate of Chillicothe High School and attended Ohio University, majoring in business management. He retired from the United States Air Force after over 22 years of distinguished service, achieving the rand of Senior Master Sergeant. Following his military career, he was employed at Martin-Marietta Energy Systems as a cost estimator engineer, retiring after 16 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anne (Wilson) Robinson; sons, Vincent and Robert (Cheryl) Robinson Jr.; daughter Adrienne (Viren) D'Souza; five grandchildren, Ashley Clemons, Robert J. Robinson III, Jordan, Morgan and Zachary Robinson; and two great-grandchildren, Treyvon and Aaliyah Jefferson. He is also survived by a special sister, Juanita Brown, of Galax, VA; brothers, Billy and Andy Goins; a brother-in-law, Harold Wilson, of Sherman Oaks, CA; sisters-in-law, Verdell Wilson, Largo, MD, Ruth Wilson, Fredericksburg, VA and Rose Wilson, San Francisco, CA; and several nieces and nephews. He was a faithful member of Floral Baptist Church in Massieville, where he served on the deacon board, as church treasurer, Sunday school superintendent and teacher. He served as president of the Ross Co. Unit of the NAACP for 19 years. He also served as 2nd vice president of the Ohio Conference of the NAACP branches and as District Coordinator. Robert was a member of Ionic Lodge #6 PHA, Past Potentate of Alla Baba Temple #53, Past Commander of L.D. Easton Consistory #21, 33rd degree member of Lansing #11 Royal Arch Masons, Taylor Commandery #6, Knights Templar Harold Council #5 Royal Select Masons. He also served as Right Worshipful Grand Lecturer of District #2. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Thursday at the First Baptist Church. Military graveside services, conducted by the US Air Force will be held 10 am Friday in Dayton National Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home, or one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Masonic services will be held 7:00 pm Wednesday at Haller's. The Robinson family would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to all for their acts of kindness, condolences and sympathy during our time of bereavement. We sincerely appreciate your prayers, expressions of concern and reflections upon the well lived life of our father, grandfather, husband, friend and servant.
