Robert J. Radebaugh, 92, of Chillicothe, and formerly of Nokomis, FL, died 10:33 am, Sunday, January 3, 2016, at his home, following a brief illness. He was born August 22, 1923 in Lancaster to the late Robert and Margaret Sites Radebaugh. On December 28, 1946 he married H. Jane Brandon who died November 12, 2007. Survivors include two sons, Robert B. (his significant other, Darlene Lustgarten) Radebaugh, Athens, OH and William J. Radebaugh, Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Jedidiah, Jerimiah, Maggie and Shannon; eight great-grandchildren; a special friend, Sue Popadych; and a special NCR Hospice caregiver and friend, Tammy Sheppeard. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Radebaugh and two sisters, Ann Voris and Jean Penisten. Bob was an outstanding athlete. He was a standout football player and track star at Lancaster High School. He then ran track for the University of Akron until he joined the US Navy to serve in World War II. He went on to graduate from Ohio University. He was an avid golfer, and especially enjoyed playing golf with his wife Jane. He had a life-long love of horses, and made many friends associated with the hobby. He retired as a regional sales manager with Johns-Manville Corporation. Bob was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce, the Chillicothe Noon Rotary Club, and the Chillicothe Country Club. The family will receive friends 4-6 pm Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. He will be entombed at St. Paul Episcopal Church Columbarium.
