Robert Lee Looney, 92, of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 3, 2024, following an extended illness.
He was born on October 31, 1932, son of the late Jess and Helen (Hayes) Looney, in Highland County, where he lived with his parents and four siblings, Morna, Coleen, Richard, and Sondra. On June 21, 1957, he married his beloved wife, Nancy L. (Fitzer) Looney, and together they shared nearly 60 years of marriage before her passing on February 21, 2017.
Of this union, three beloved children were born. Lisa Looney Anstine, who preceded him in death; her family, Christopher and Kara Anstine, both of whom survive; a son, Kip (Kristin) Looney, and family, Melissa Barnard and Alexis McCray; a daughter, Krista (Jerrod) Herald, and family, Justin Herald, Jeremy Herald, and Jaxson Herald. Also surviving is a brother, Richard Looney; sister, Sondra Looney Elam; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Bob worked for Sears in Chillicothe for more than 40 years before retiring. He made many friends during his employment and was someone who never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Bob and his beloved wife Nancy will be laid to rest together in Bainbridge Cemetery at a future date.
