Robert Kight

Robert W. Kight, 84, of Chillicothe, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the Adena Reginal Medical Center, following a brief illness.

He was born March 30, 1937 in Richmond Dale, OH to the late Eldon and Edith Tennant Kight.  On May 26, 1963 he married the former Nancy Jenkins Kight, who preceded him in death June 20, 2016.  He is survived by his children: Judith A. Kight, Robert W. (Mary) Kight, Jr., and Kelly M. (Chad) Thompson, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Tiffany (Michael) Hoy, Joseph M. Kight, Michael T. Rigsby, Jr., Rachael A. Lowry; great-grandchildren Abby, Allie and Hudson; brothers, Charles (Diane) Kight and Lowell (Katie) Kight; a brother-in-law, Thomas Jenkins; a sister-in-law, Betty Kay Phillips; his cat Delilah; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Harold and Gail Kight; three sisters, Helen Vest, Mildred Porter and Dorothy Cooper.

Mr. Kight was a US Army veteran and retired from the VA Medical Center-Chillicothe.  He loved reading and watching Big Brother.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was a member of St. Peter Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday, Rev. Timothy Hayes, Celebrant.  Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.  Friends may call 4:00-6:00 pm Thursday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, where a wake service will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday.
