Robert Kaltenbach

Robert C. Kaltenbach, Jr., 64, of Chillicothe, died at 2:13pm Friday August 21, 2009, in Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born April 3, 1945, in Chillicothe, to the late Robert C., Sr. and Vivian N. Comer Kaltenbach. On November 30, 1968, he married the former Janet Sue Rutter, who preceded him in death in 1988. Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law William and Pam Kaltenbach; sisters Judith and Janet Kaltenbach, all of Chillicothe; sister-in-law Sandy Kaltenbach, of Wisconsin; an aunt and uncle Carol (Earl) Baylous, of Kingston; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins including a close cousin Patty Dunn, of Laurelville. He was predeceased by his brother Jim Kaltenbach. Bob was a graduate of Bishop Flaget High School, Class of 1965, and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He served his country in the US Navy for two years in Vietnam and six years in the Naval Reserves. He was a retired postal worker, serving for over 32 years, at the Twin Rivers Drive Post Office in Columbus. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Monday, August 31, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 61 S. Paint St., Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home.
