Robert Hurst

Robert Eugene Hurst, "Popcorn," 69, of Chillicothe, passed away on September 1, 2024, as a result of a boating accident.
He was born August 25, 1955, in Chillicothe, to the late Carolyn Boydston and Robert Hurst. In addition to his parents, Bobby was predeceased by a sister Lisa Hurst.
Surviving are a host of cousins and close friends, including special cousins Crystal Rider and Lori Neff, who were just like sisters to him; a special cousin Curtis Lewis, who was like a brother to him; and several friends, including a special friend Vincent Branson.
Bobby had served in the Army Reserves and later became a Merchant Marine. He was a special type of person. He will be remembered for his kind heart and his willingness to help others without a thought or concern for himself. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed. He always said, "when friends refer to me, they call me "Popcorn."
Following cremation, his graveside committal will be held at 1pm Saturday, September 14, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe.
