Robert Holz

Robert W. Holz, 81, of Londonderry, died 3:45 pm, Saturday, June 11, 2011, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born June 15, 1929 in Chicago, IL to the late Augusta and Gertrude Shea Holz. On September 10, 1955 he married the former Ruth Ann Collins, who survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Mary (David) Greeno and Paula Holz, both of Chillicothe and Ann (William) Vier, of Aurora, CO; his sons, Mike Holz, of Londonderry and James (Vicki) Holz, of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Jason Greeno, William Vier, and Tyler Holz; his great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Quinnten, and Owen; his brothers, Edward "Curly" (Maxine) Holz and James (Fran) Holz; and his nephews, John and Byron Holz. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine and Betsy; an infant grandson and a brother, Donald. Bob was a US Army Veteran and retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was an avid golfer and gardener. He was member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 600, AMVETS Post 4, American Legion Post 62, and a life member and Past Commander of the VFW Post 108. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Friday, June 17, at St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Thursday, where a wake service will be held at 7:00 pm.
