Robert Harris

March 21, 1938 — July 29, 2014

Robert "Bob" Myrl Harris, 76, of Chillicothe, passed from this earth on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 4:55 a.m. at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born on March 21, 1938, in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Kenneth Myrl Harris and the late and former Mildred Cox. On April 5, 1958 he married the "love of his life" and former Joyce Elaine Hall, who survives. To this union were added two daughters, Crystal Lynne Arledge (Jay) and Jacqueline Kaye Bouillion (Lindsey). Five grandchildren, Ashley Arledge Jones (Brandon), Chelsey Arledge McMurray (John Thomas), Mackenzie Arledge, Wesley Bouillion (McKenzie Rife), Wyatt Bouillion, and great-grandson Beau Morgan McMurrary. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Harris Allen, niece Amy Allen Cottrill (Shane), nephew Tony Allen, great nephew Dane Cottrill, a sister-in-law, Carol Hall Riley, and brother-in-law, Ronnie Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Warren Harris, brothers-in-law, Gary Hall and Wayne Reno, sisters-in-law, Marilyn Hall and Patricia Hall Reno, and niece Pamela Fultz Allen. Bob was a very caring and giving man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a great provider. He always put his family's and friend's needs before his own. He will be greatly missed by all. Bob was a dedicated employee for Chilpaco where he worked as a foreman until his retirement in 1994. In addition to working at Chilpaco, he frequently worked on cars as a second source of income which led to his hobby of restoring street rods. He became a member of the Igniter's Car Club. He enjoyed going to and participating in car shows until his illness robbed him of the ability to do so. When his health was good he gave 150% and showed pride in everything he did. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced at a later date. Calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of the Haller Funeral Home. His online memorial register is available at www.HallerFuneralHome.com.
