Robert E. "Bob" Gallaugher, 81, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly at his residence at 11:03am, on August 6, 2025.
He was born December 27, 1943, in Chillicothe, to the late Elmer and Olive L. (Leibe) Gallaugher. On February 16, 1968, he married the former Julia A. "Judy" Saunders, who preceded him in death on November 27, 2013.
He is survived by their 3 children: Michelle Gallaugher, of Perry Co., OH, Nicole (Matt) Gates, of Galloway, OH, and Robert E. "Rob" Gallaugher II, of Chillicothe; his brother Ronald (Hope) Gallaugher; and 3 nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Betty Farmer and Jean Woods.
Bob was a graduate of Chillicothe High School. He then entered the US Marine Corps, where he served from 1963-1967 until he was honorably discharged. He worked for over 40 years at Chilpaco before retiring. In his free time, he loved being outdoors, camping and riding motorcycles.
A brief time of sharing will be held at 12pm Tuesday, August 12, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Military honors, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11am until Noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
