Robert L. Firestone, 82, of Chillicothe, died 9:55 pm, Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, unexpectedly. He was born February 5, 1929 in Connellsville, PA to the late Norman and Rose Mary Hochmuth Firestone. On November 5, 1955 he married the former Theresa B. Kvasnovsky, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Barbara Firestone, Chillicothe; brother, Donald Firestone, Willowick, OH; a sister, Anna Kvasnovsky, Uniontown, PA; and a special friend, Pauline Davis. He was preceded in death by an infant son; three sisters, Dorothy Labo, Victoria Churan, and Rose Mary Holland; and a brother, Norman Firestone Jr. Mr. Firestone and his wife Theresa left Uniontown, PA and settled in Chillicothe. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran. He retired from the atomic plant as a supervisor in 1992 following 32 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and doing odd jobs at home and for his daughter. He was a member of St. Mary Church, the Knights of Columbus, and was active with the United Way. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 pm Wednesday at St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Family and friends may call 4-6 pm Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 6:00 pm.
