Robert Dempsey

Robert F. Dempsey, 69, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 12:20pm September 27, 2005, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 29, 1936, in Minden, WV, to the late Percy F. and Ruth E. Thompson Dempsey. On April 3, 1993, he married the former June Anne Conaway Lawrence, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter and son-in-law Rebecca (Mike) Cichetti, of King of Prussia, PA; step-son Bill (Christa) Lawrence, Kingston; brother and sister-in-law Jerry (Sharon) Dempsey, Colorado Springs, CO; and a special friend Mrs. Verno Brohard, of Chillicothe. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry Dempsey. Bob retired from PPG in 1998. He was a member of the Adena Rd. Church of Christ where he served as a trustee. He was also and member of the Scioto Lodge No. 6 F & AM. Bob proudly served his country, being a veteran of both the Army and the Air Force. Bob took great pride in his presentation to local schools, churches, and civic organizations about our Nation's Flag. A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00am Saturday, October 1, at the Adena Rd. Church of Christ, 900 Orange St., Chillicothe, with Pastor Jon Creamer officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Concord Church Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-7pm at Haller Funeral Home where a Masonic Funeral will be conducted at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Rd.
