Robert Blair

Robert W. Blair, 89, died at 11:55am Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Villa Angela, Columbus, following an extended illness. He was born March 4, 1925, in Utica, NY, to the late Earl J. and Mildred E. (Kistner) Blair. On May 20, 1947, he married the former Jean J. Miller, who preceded him in death on October 12, 2012. He is survived by their children: David (Judy) Blair, of Shingle Springs, CA; Peggy (William) Orchard, of Arvada, CO; Janet (James) Robbins, Chillicothe; Donald Blair, of West Chester, OH; Joseph (Lupe) Blair, of Oceanside, CA; and Charles (Tina) Blair, Powell, OH; grandchildren: Derek (Lindsey) Robbins, Dustin (Gina) Robbins, Paul Blair, Elise Blair, Morgan Orchard, Elizabeth (Andrew) Newcomb, Rebecca Blair, Vanessa Blair, Jessica (Alex) Jacques, Kyle Blair, Monica Blair, David Blair and Ciera Blair; great-grandchildren: Maxwell, Lucy and Vivian Robbins; and sisters-in-law Louise Blair, Indiana; and Marilyn Barr, Arizona. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Earl R. Blair. Bob attended Catholic Central High School and retired from the US Shoe Factory, where he worked for over 42 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Council 1071. Bob was a caring husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin, watching movies and playing cards with his friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 16, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the Mass at St. Mary Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Mary, 61 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
