Robert Bales

Robert G. Bales, Jr., 68, of Chillicothe, died at 7:21pm Saturday, September 3, 2005, in Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Columbus. He was born September 7, 1936, in Ross Co. to the late Robert G., Sr., and Leafy Diehl Bales. On May 4, 1957, he married the former June E. Henry, who survives. Also surviving are his sons J. Douglas Bales, Florida; and Jeffrey Alan Bales and his fiancée Karla Parks, both of Chillicothe; granddaughters Victoria June and Alexandria Jean Bales, both of Chillicothe; brothers and sisters-in-law Fred (Ida Mae) Bales, Friendship, OH; and James (Margaret) Bales, Chillicothe; and a half-sister Dora Haddox. He was predeceased by a son Charles Christopher Bales and his step-mother Irene (Welch) Bales. Bob worked at Chilpaco in the core room before retiring in 1983. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served in the Brotherhood. He also served his country as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps from 1955-1959. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, September 7, at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Carol Davis officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
