Robert A. "Bob" Alexander, 87, passed away unexpectedly at 5:16pm October 9, 2018, at the Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born February 6, 1931, to the late Harley A., Sr. and Harriett A. (Daniels) Alexander, in a log cabin on Alexander Hollow by Doc Haas. Bob was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1949. He then went to serve in the US Air Force. On August 18, 1960, he married Patricia J. Jones, who survives. He also leaves behind his daughter Connie Reed (Larry Vest); son Joe Alexander, all of Chillicothe; his only granddaughters Madison Elizabeth and McKenna Alexis Reed; special family Dylan and Faith Estep and their daughter Brooklyn Estep; his siblings: Helen Uhrig, Charles (Linda) Alexander, Dean Alexander, Shirley (Ron) Saxton, John (Bock) Alexander; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, loving in-laws, many close friends; and his faithful K9 "Remington." He was predeceased by his parents, siblings: Harley Alexander, Jr., an infant sister Sharon, who was Shirley's twin, and Raymond and Jim Alexander; and many in-laws and cousins. Bob worked for over 21 years for the former Boatman & Co. in Bainbridge. He also worked for Sommers Body Shop and later for his brother at Alexander Body Shop before retiring in 1996. Bob, along with Pat, loved working on cars, attending car shows and antique equipment shows. Together, they shared a love for antiques and enjoyed many years of collecting and selling them, especially the 28 years they spent at the Fall Festival of Leaves. He loved his collection of 2500 antique hammers. When Bob wasn't in the garage, he could be found in his vegetable garden. The family will miss his stories and all of his memories that he loved sharing. A Celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. At his request, cremation services will be held under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
