Robbie (Rob) Lawrence Mowbray, 63, of Frankfort, passed away peacefully at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center on Sunday, November 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Monday, March 12, 1962, in Chillicothe, a son of the former Clara Mowbray.
Rob is survived by his mother, Clara (Don) Huffman of Frankfort, three children, Zacharia, Erica, and Mark (Courtney) Mowbray, seven grandchildren, Avrey, Corvin, Jacob, Mason, Tatum, Lilith, and Owen Mowbray, one brother, Duane Atwood, stepdaughter Christina Martin and many nieces and nephews. Rob was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jean Vest, an uncle, Rick Vest, and a brother, Albert Mowbray.
Rob was a 1980 graduate of Adena High School and the Pickaway-Ross Vocational Center. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an ABH aircraft handler and was stationed on the USS Forrestal. Rob was a friend to everyone and shared his love of life, God, and the outdoors with everyone he met. If you knew Rob, you know about his dedication to trapping and artifact hunting, and whether you liked it or not, you have likely heard his legendary stories. Additionally, he was a lifelong dedicated fan of the Cincinnati Reds, the Cleveland Browns, and most of all the Ohio State Buckeyes Football team.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 1661 Western Avenue, in Chillicothe. Following visiting hours, we will proceed to Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort, Ohio, where a Graveside Service and Military Honors will be held in Rob's memory.
Rob’s dedication and love for family and friends will continue to shine through all whose lives he touched. Rob was a unique individual, and those who shared life with him will cherish those memories. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
