Rita Irene Stout

Rita I. Stout, 83, of Louisville, KY, died April 14, 2026, at Baptist Health Louisville, following an extended illness.

She was born October 17, 1942, in Springfield, OH, to the late Delbert & Oma (Mitchell) Greene. On June 26, 1978, she married H. Thomas Stout, who survives.

Also surviving are her daughters Tracy Lynn (Greg) Robinson, Westfield, IN; and Angela Lynn (Jimmy) White, Chillicothe; grandchildren: Jacob Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Halle Hurtt, Casey White, Josh Beeler, Wesley Beeler, Jordan Beeler, Morgan Beeler, Scott Beeler, Gabrielle Stout and Nathan Stout; and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sons Scott Alan Beeler and Thomas Andrew Stout; Opal and Ora Kepler, who raised her; and her step-father Bill Davis.

Rita worked a number of places over the years: Dairy Queen, Mead Paper Co., ALCOA, Wayne Works, the City of Richmond (IN), Ahaus Tool and Ball State University. Her hobbies included being a watercolor artist, which allowed her to study watercolor in Italy. She was the Secretary for the Kentucky Watercolor Society, an officer for the Kentucky Watercolor Assoc., and an officer for the Indiana Purchasing Assoc., which she help found. She was a 1960 graduate of Paint Valley High School, Bainbridge, OH and earned her Associates Degree in Business from Ohio University. She and Tom loved to travel.

Her funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday, April 23, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.
