Rita Sanders

Rita A. McCarty Sanders, 73, of Chillicothe, died at 3:54pm February 17, 2016, at Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born September 18, 1942, in Ross County to the late Homer Nelson and Agnes Marie Fink McCarty. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Sabin L. Sanders; sisters: Elizabeth Brundige and Kathleen McNaughton; brothers: Patrick and William McCarty, and former brothers-in-law Jimmy Bland and Robert "Jock" Byers. She is survived by her children: Randall L. Sanders, of Springfield, VA, Rhonda M. Sanders McDermott, of Lakewood, CO, and Shane C. Sanders, Chillicothe; 3 grandchildren: Audra McDermott, Sarah McDermott and Cammie Cherie Detillion; 2 great-grandchildren: Destiny Sublett and Brayden Swepston; brothers: Fredrick (Rosie) McCarty, Robert (Mary Lou) McCarty; sisters: Rosemary (Elmer) Shoemaker; Theresa (Dean) Williams, Bernie (Edsel) Duty, Norma Jean Horn; several nieces and nephews; her former husband Ronald L. Sanders; Ronald's siblings Marty Tackett, Carl Bland, Carolyn Good, Marilyn Good, and Helen Evans; and her longtime companion Donald Greene. Rita was a life member of American Legion, Post 757 and the Moose Lodge. She had worked at the former Rubbermaid Plant. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Saturday at Haller Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Saturday from 10am until 12pm at Haller's.
