Rita M. Eberl, 91, of Chillicothe, OH and formerly of 118 Cherry Road, Kersey, died Sunday morning at Maple View Manor, Bainbridge, OH where she had resided for several years after living with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born December 7, 1917 in Kersey, PA, daughter of the late Fred and Anna Hyatt Emmett. She was a lifelong resident of Kersey, PA until her struggle with Alzheimer's. She was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1935. She was a retired cook for the St. Marys Area School District. On September 21, 1940 she married Michael J. Eberl who preceded her in death on March 15, 1996. She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary (Mrs. Bob) Brokaw of Chillicothe, OH. She also leaves behind three grandchildren who were the loves of her life: Arlene Brokaw of Orono, Maine, Rob Brokaw of Columbus, OH, and Alicia Brokaw of Marion, Indiana. She was a member of the St. Boniface Church in Kersey, PA. Rita was an avid cook and well known for her delicious cooking and baking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and was a lifelong animal lover. Funeral services are being held at the St. Boniface Church in Kersey, PA. Memorials if desired may be made to your local humane society.
