Rick Long

Rick A. "Popeye" Long, 54, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at 7:12pm on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Adena Regional Medical Center. Rick was born on January 12, 1958, in Chillicothe (Ross), Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, John S. and Mary Jane (Foster) Long. On August 25, 2000, he married Patricia Jean Riehle, who preceded him in death on March 2, 2012. Survivors include a son, Charles William "Hank" Long; granddaughter Alise Annmarie Long; a step-son, Samuel J. Riehle, all of Chillicothe; sister-in-law Jackie Riehle Boggs, brothers-in-law Rodney and James A. (Melissa) Riehle, all of Chillicothe; and other extended family. He was a former employee of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad System, Mead (Glatfelter) Paper Company, and several concrete companies. Rick was an avid Ohio St. Buckeyes fan and Cincinnati Reds fan. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, August 29, at Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Huntington Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 11am until 1pm at Haller Funeral Home.
