Richard E. Winfield, 59, of Chillicothe, died at 8:55pm April 20, 2023, at Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born August 5, 1963, in Chillicothe to the late Morris J. Harding, Sr. and Mary Katherine (Jones) Winfield. On June 8, 1998, he married the former Amy L. Reisinger, who survives. Also surviving are his children: Maurice "Reese" Winfield and Mari-Lee Winfield, his sisters Gilda "Peachie" Winfield and Marsha (Lamont) Jackson, all of Chillicothe; his mother-in-law Sandy Bickers; nieces and nephews: Alan Czyzrae Lemley II, Mershaun (Chelsea) Lee, Marquis (Summer) Jackson, Makhi Jackson, Maryauna Lemley, Macailyn Lee, Marlecia Lee, Abbigail Lee and Mykelti Lee; and his Godson Jalen Mischal. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Morris Harding, Jr., sister Patricia A. Wright; a special friend Bob Mischal; and his father-in-law Larry Bickers. Richie was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1981. He then earned his technical degree in automotive mechanics. He retired from CCI where he worked as a Corrections Officer, until he retired in 2000. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, and belonged to many organizations and clubs. His funeral service will be held at 6pm Tuesday, April 25, at Zion Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. J. Troy Gray officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11am Wednesday, April 26, in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church.
