Richard Osborne

Loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Richard C. Osborne, reached his final destination 3:00 pm, Thursday, July 7, 2011. He was 84 years old and had battled with an extended illness. He was born April 29, 1927, to Mitchell Osborne and Florence Rinehart and has several brothers and sisters surviving. Rich married the late Anna Mae (Chaney) October 2, 1948; their union produced four children; Jim Osborne(deceased), Dick (Jenny) Osborne, Sandy (Mike Mays), and Tom (Amy) Osborne. On January 16, 1988 he married the former Barbara (Kellough) Ray, who survives, and gained three other children, Cindy Mendenhall, Greg (Carmen) Ray, and Dave (Kathy) Ray. Pappy leaves 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren with whom he delighted in spending time. Rich served with the US Army until his honorable discharge in 1946 and retired as an electrician from the VA Medical Center in 1982. He built over 30 homes in the area and created handmade furniture and wood crafts. He was an avid fisherman, loved to bake and enjoyed big dinners and fish fries with his family, friends and neighbors. A member of Brookside CCCU Church, Rich was active with the Senior Adults there. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Monday at the Haller Funeral Home, Rev Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 Sunday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brookside Senior Adults.
