Richard F. "Rick" Huspen, D.O., 44, of Kingston, died 12:40 pm, Saturday, April 8, 2017, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born September 12, 1972 in Fond Du Lac, WI to the late Dr. Robert F. and Janet (Blanchard) Huspen. On May 26, 2001 he married Brandy L. Sorrell, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Xavier, Gage, and Evelyn, all at home; a stepson, Dominic Lakarosky, Bedford, OH; siblings, Marguerite Huspen, Janet Fritz Huspen, Mary Andre' (Anthony) Rini, Barbara (John) Halbur, Laura (Dean) Holland, Rita (Darrell Keith) Kerr, Robert (Tonya) Huspen, Catherine (James) Olsen, Suzanne Huspen, Ronald (Elvedina) Huspen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rick received a wrestling scholarship to, and was a graduate of University of Wisconsin Madison with a degree in microbiology. He was a 2000 graduate of the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was the Medical Director of Psychiatry/Neurology at the Adena Health System Counseling Center. Rick attended Church Triumphant and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting white tail deer and morel mushrooms and was an avid fisherman. When Rick was outdoors, it was his sanctuary and where he felt closest to God. He was raised on a Polled Hereford farm, where they also raised AKC labs, and beagles. Because his father was a veterinarian, and his upbringing on the farm, Rick learned to appreciate animals and conservation. A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends may call 4-7 pm Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Haller's.
