Richard Hughes

Richard E. "Dick" Hughes, Sr., 77, entered in to Heaven's gates at 11:03am Sunday, December 4, 2016. He was born July 20, 1939, in Ross Co., to the late John and Katheryn (Bennett) Hughes. On July 27, 1958, he married the former Carla Sue (Bethel) Hughes and together they enjoyed 58 years of wonderful marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother-in-law Martha Bethel; his children: Debra & Glen Pierce, Lisa & Pat Bosstic and Randall & Candy Hughes; grandchildren: Jami & Keith Kness, Rekia & Tom Tyler, Angie & Chad Coil, Mikki Bosstic (Les), Whitney Hughes, Randa Hughes (Chris), Jacob Hughes (Courtney), great-grandchildren: Aaron and Ethan Wilson, Cole McGhee, Sawyer Newcomb, Titus and Jaylen Brush, and Coltan Newcomb; step-great-grandchildren: Hunter, Kadie, Haylynn, Brittany, Melissa, Heath, Cami, Raeley and Chadalyssia; great-great-grandchildren: Zayden, Cashton and Tucker; his brother Rodger Hughes; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Becki & Joe Cyrus; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Richard E. "Dickie" Hughes, Jr., his parents; brothers Joe, John and Mick Hughes; sisters Pat Mumford and Janet Hughes; and step-grandson Glen "Hutchie" Pierce. Dick was honorably discharged from the US Army Reserves, he worked at CHILPACO for 48 years and was a member of Liberty Hill Church, where he served as a trustee. A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, December 10, at the Liberty Hill Church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
