Richard Hendershot

Richard D. Hendershot, 72, of Chillicothe, died Sunday April 27, 2008, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, April 30, in the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Jim McFadden officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. Richard was born July 19, 1935, in Point Pleasant, WV, to the late John G. and Mary G. Zimmerman Hendershot. On June 9, 1963, he married the former Betty A. Turner, who survives. Also surviving are their son and daughter-in-law Mark (Patty) Hendershot, of Chillicothe; son Daniel Hendershot, of Grove City; grandson Cody Hendershot, Chillicothe; brother and sister-in-law Phillip Norman (Joan) Hendershot, Frankfort; and a sister and brother-in-law Carolyn (Richard) Krick, of Florida. He was predeceased by his brothers John and Howard Hendershot. Richard retired from the Mead Corporation in 1997 following 41 years of service. He was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1953. He served his country in the US Army from 1958-1960.
