Richard Graves

Richard E. Graves, 94, of Chillicothe, died at 7:00am Monday April 11, 2011, in his home. He was born March 14, 1917, in Chillicothe, to the late John E. and Hazel M. VonKennel Graves. On September 4, 1937, he married the former Marjorie L. Dennewitz, who preceded him in death on November 28, 2007. Surviving are his daughters Jacquelyn D. Arbaugh and Pamela Clemmons, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Bret Jones, Gregory Arbaugh, Shelley Clemmons and Michael Clemmons; 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister Dorothy Ulum, of Washington C.H. He was predeceased by his son Richard D. Graves; a sister Madeline Annis; brothers Robert and Paul Graves and a grandson MSGT Brad A. Clemmons. The family would like to give special thanks to Michael Clemmons, Diana Whitt, Bonnie Garress and Darrel Creager for their help with the care of Richie and their help with the family. Rich retired from the Kenworth Truck Co. in 1982. He was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1935. He was a member for over 20 years of the Scioto Lodge #6 F & AM. He loved working in the garden and competitive dance roller skating. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00pm Sunday, April 17, in the Haller Funeral Home with Bonnie Garress officiating. Private graveside services will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
