Richard Bost

Richard Roy Bost, 78, of Chillicothe, died 5:55 pm March 20, 2021 at the Adena Regional Medical Center.
He was born December 23, 1942 in Ashville, OH to the late Milford "Dick" and Mavis Campbell Bost.  On February 2, 1968 he married Loretta Nelson Bost, who survives.  Also surviving are his son, Richard (Kelly) Bost, Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Zacheriah (Mary) Smith, Lillian Stamper and Olivia Bost; a great-granddaughter, Eleanor Smith; four siblings, Paul (Jan) Bost, Tim (Nancy) Bost, John (Nancy) Bost, and Barb (Treb) Layton; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Bost.
Richard served in the United States Air Force and was an emergency medical technician.  He worked construction and was a former Pike Co. and Ross Co. deputy sheriff.  His passion was serving as a minister in numerous locations, including the Adena Health System's Pastoral Care team and Jefferson Ave. CCCU.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the Jefferson Ave. CCCU, Rev. Mike Holbrook officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may join the family for a visitation from 12:00pm on Tuesday until the time of the service at the church.
