Rex A. Collins Rex A. Collins, 82, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2007, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, after a brief stay in Traditions of Chillicothe. He was born May 16, 1924 in Raleigh, NC to Sylvester and Elsie Stokes Collins. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, with a degree in Business Administration. On November 23, 1950 he married Josephine "Jo" S. Crawford, who survives. In addition to his wife, survivors include a brother, Philip (Barbara Lou) Collins, of Raleigh, NC and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James; and a sister, Jean Spence. Rex was employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., Akron, OH and started his career in Charlotte, NC in 1950. He also worked in Atlanta, New York City, Buffalo, Los Angeles, Brussels Belgium, Akron, and Piketon, with the Atomic Plant, retiring in 1985. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, having served at the Naval Air Station in Pearl Harbor. He was a member of the Chillicothe Country Club, an avid golfer, and played in the Leisure League at the club. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday in the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Donald Rossman officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans' Honor Guard, will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
