Rebecca Esther Shoemaker Williams, 47, died unexpectedly Friday January 2, 2015, in Dallas, TX. She was born November 17, 1967 in Springfield, OH to Donald and Karen Shoemaker. Survivors include her husband Craig, with whom she was united in marriage on August 17, 2014, beneath the shade of a lovely oak tree, on her father's farm near Bourneville, OH. Also surviving are her father Don and her stepmother Patty Shoemaker, of Bourneville; her mother Karen Shoemaker, of Chillicothe; sisters, Christine (Greg) Baird, Sarah Shoemaker, and Jessica Shoemaker; son, Akiva Steinberg; daughters, Libby Mackin, Rachel Steinberg, Kirya Steinberg; granddaughter, Lilly Mackin; uncles, Daryl Shoemaker and Lee Lykins; aunt Virginia Sansom; nephews, Scott Baird, Silas Pereira, Andy Lykins; nieces, Isabella Pereira and Clarice Pereira. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Manuel and Alta Shoemaker and O. B. Lykins; uncle, Charles Shoemaker; and aunts, Charlotte Smith and Esther Shoemaker. In 1986 she graduated from Paint Valley High School and pursued studies at Ohio University-Chillicothe. She was employed as the manager of the Dallas branch of Greenling Food Services. She had a quick wit and a smile that were contagious. She loved to spend time with her family, cook and travel. She was an avid Ohio State University football fan. She will be greatly missed. Her wonderful spirit shall forever live in those who knew her. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Thursday at the Haller Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held in Twin Township Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the OSU James Cancer Center, 410 W. 10th Ave., Columbus, OH 43213.
