Rebecca L. Seymour, 91, of Chillicothe, died at 7:42pm October 31, 2025, at her residence following a brief illness. She was born December 11, 1933, in Millersville, WV, to the late Henry H. and Margaret E. (Thompson) Hale.
On June 18, 1954, she married Warden D. Seymour, who preceded her in death on December 12, 2017. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her great-granddaughter Amari Barnett; sisters Mary Jo Williams, Nola Suplita and Donna Dye; a brother Henry Hale; and in-laws Elba and Dessie Marie Seymour.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law Patti Strausbaugh, of Frankfort; Cathy (Mike) Barnett and Donna Jo (Ron Stepp) Collier-Stepp both of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Heather (Steve) Mace, Mike (Lisa) McCloy, Kevin (Emily) McCloy, Krystal (Mike) Roberts, Rachel Jo Barnett, Rebecca L. (Don) DiBenedetto, Sarah (Josh) Johnson, Amber Dawn (Martin Brooks) Collier, Thursday (Dana) St. Giles, and James Craig Collier III; 25 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Karen (James) Myers and Margaret Hyde, both of West Virginia; and a brother Chester (Sue) Hale, of West Virginia. Becky also had three very special dogs in her life: "Ray J." and "Midget," both deceased; and "Penny," who happily found a new home with her grandchild Alex Brooks.
Becky was a member of the Sunrush Church of Christ, where she served as a Bible Class teacher and an assistant leader for their Girl Scout Troop 8725. She was also an avid bowler at one time.
Her funeral service will be held at 11am Friday November 7, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Ron Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
