Reada Lou (McKelvey) Brock, 84, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, August 15, 2025 at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born May 5, 1941, daughter of the late Arthur and Ida (Miller) McKelvey. On March 14, 1975, she married her beloved husband, Howard G. Brock, who preceded her in death August 14, 1990.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin (Denise) Davis; son-in-law, Kevin Bray; step-daughter, Janis Stout; step-son, Jeff Brock; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Norma Burton, Patricia (Steve) Humble, and Kay (Joe) Jenkins; close friends, Cindy Leeth and Katie Zahner; as well as numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Bray; her siblings, Joe (Mary Ann) McKelvey, Betty (Gene) Koelker, and Freda McKelvey; and brother-in-law, Noel Burton.
Reada was a graduate of Portsmouth East High School, class of 1960. She worked for Soldiers and Sailors in Chillicothe for many years before retiring in 2006, where she helped Ross County Veterans obtain eligible benefits. She loved attending services at the Andersonville Community Church, where she was a member for many years. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 62. In her free time, she could be found cleaning and singing around the house. She also loved being outdoors keeping her yard mowed and her flower beds perfect.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Ray and Steve Humble officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery next to her beloved husband. Friends may join the family for visitation from 11:00am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to National Church Residences Hospice in her honor.
