Raymond Cecil Osborne, 75, of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday night, August 30, 2023 at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born July 14, 1948, in Chillicothe, son of the late Cecil and Pauline (Clark) Osborne.
Surviving is his sister, Linda Burton; nieces, Vicky (Bill) Scott, Kay (Bo) Purdum, and Penny (Doug) Good; nephew, Kevin Hall; as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Glenda (Harvey) Long, and Bonnie (Jay) Montgomery; a brother-in-law, Bill Burton; and his longtime companion, Betty King.
Ray was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam from April 23, 1968 to December 10, 1969. Upon his return home, he worked as a mechanic for many years in the automotive industry. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, AMVETS, and the Eagles. In his free time, he enjoyed playing pool and was a huge Dale Ernhart fan.
Military graveside honors conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will take place at 12:00pm on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Twin Township Cemetery.
