Raymond A. Goode, 79, of Frankfort, died 8:15 pm, Sunday, January 3, 2010, in Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus, following a two month illness. He was born April 17, 1930 in Circleville, OH to William and Ruth Maechtal Goode. In 1968 he married Mariellen Dolder Goode, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Paul J. (Diane Spooner) Goode, of Chillicothe and AnnaMarie "Annie" Goode, at home; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Goode; five grandchildren, Kayla, Ashley and Micca Goode, Ashley May, and Cody Harber; sisters, Margaret Goode, of Circleville, Jean Roundhouse, of Lancaster, Ruth Seimer, of Stoutsville, and Sister Agnes Goode, of Columbus; brothers, Jerry and Jack (Judy) Goode, of Circleville, David (Pauline) Goode, of Columbus, and Paul (Trisha) Goode, of Ashtabula. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Goode and a sister, Elizabeth Scott. Ray was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Columbus in May of 1956 and served the diocese until 1967, including time as Director of Catholic Charities. He worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Indianapolis, for 10 years and in Chillicothe for 31 years, retiring as a social worker in September of 2009. He served on the Board of Directors for First Capital Enterprises from 1992-2002, the Ross County MRDD Board, from 2002-2008, and the Frontier Community Services board from July of 2009 to the time of his death. Ray was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Circleville. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at the Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8:00 pm.
