Raymond Cooper

Raymond S. "Toots" Cooper, 81, of Chillicothe, died Wednesday evening at Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.   He was born May 28, 1938, in Ross County, to the late Raymond L. Cooper and Virginia I. (Terry) Goins.   He is survived by several nieces and nephews, to whom he was lovingly known as "Uncle Toots" including special nieces Martina I. Usry, Marleeta Knight and Marty Mallory, all of Chillicothe; and many friends, including special friends Bonnie Thomas and James "Dude" Thomas. Raymond was predeceased by his parents; his step-father Joseph Goins, Sr.; a sister Cynthia Mallory; 3 brothers: Frank (Saundra) Cooper, Sr., Joseph Goins, Jr., and Darvin Cooper; infant twin siblings; and his step-father Joseph Goins, Sr.   Raymond retired from the Mead Paper Co. and he was an avid standardbred horse racing fan.   Private services will be held under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
