On Thursday, October 26, 2006, J. Ray Snyder, 60, of Frankfort, came home from a hard day's work at the Chillicothe Country Club, just like he had done for the last 40 years, sat down in his chair, and passed from this life at 5:05pm. Ray was born October 11, 1946, in Portsmouth, OH to the late Harvey and Kathryn E. (Thompson) Snyder. On July 5, 1965, he married the former J. Kay McGraw, who survives. Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Ronald Ray (Jean) Snyder, Aiken, SC; daughter and son-in-law Belinda (Todd) Morris, Frankfort, OH; grandchildren: Joshua, Timothy, and Christina Snyder, all of Summerville, SC; and Jessica "Nikki" Moore, Frankfort; step-grandchildren Amanda Sowers, Frankfort; Jimmie Jones, Chillicothe; Bobby (Kim) Ewing, New Ellenton, SC; David Christian, Langley, SC; step-great-grandchildren Logan and Hunter; brothers and sisters-in-law Larry (Pam) Snyder, Portsmouth; Kenny (Yolanda) Snyder, Eagle Pass, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law Shirley (Walt) Blanton, Portsmouth; Sharon (Bill) Copas, Troy, OH; Becky (Dave) Justice, Portsmouth; and Peggy (Ray) Dunaway, Lucasville, OH. He was predeceased by a brother Jack Snyder and a sister Betty Young. Ray was an Assistant Greenskeeper for the Chillicothe Country Club for 40 years. He enjoyed camping with his family and his dog, "Trixie." Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
