Randal H. "Roots" Rhinehart, 65, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly November 5, 2024, at his residence from an apparent cardiac event.
He was born November 22, 1958, in Chillicothe to the late Darrell H. and Joyce A. (Peck) Rhinehart. On December 6, 1983, he married the former Karen K. Perkins, who survives. Randy was the love of her life.
Also surviving are his brother Stephen Rhinehart; sister Gretchen (Chris) Liggins, all of Chillicothe; his sister-in-law Tina (Tony) Irvin; aunts, who were like sisters-in-law: Joanne Throckmorton and June (Jeff) Shaw; special aunt, Brenda (Charlie) Gillum; several additional aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews; and many friends who were dear to him.
Randy was a 1977 graduate of Unioto High School and served his country in the US Navy. He had worked for over 25 years at Fawcett Oliver Glass Funeral Home prior to becoming disabled. He loved being around people and could strike up a conversation with anybody, even in the parking lot of Kroger's while waiting on Karen. He enjoyed hunting deer with his buddies and was an avid baseball and Ohio State Buckeye fan. He enjoyed taking rides in the countryside, sitting on the porch and watching all of our rescue cats running and playing in the yard. Randy will be in our hearts forever and sadly missed.
Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will be held at 1pm Thursday, Nov. 14, in Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a local cat rescue.
