Ralph Edgar Yingling Jr, 89, of Chillicothe, died at 4:38pm, Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Ohio Health Grant Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born January 7, 1934 in Littlestown, Pennsylvania to the late Ralph E. Yingling Sr and Beatrice O. Staley Yingling. He is survived by a brother, Fred Yingling of Chillicothe, niece Sara Yingling of Chillicothe and nephews Fred (Jordance) Yingling Jr of New Albany, David Yingling of Chillicothe. Also surviving are Stepsons Michael Norman of Hillsboro, Mark Norman of Wellington, FL and Stepdaughters Marsha McGovern of Troy, Mary (Laddie) Williams of Fort Myers, FL and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Sandra Yingling. Ralph graduated from Centralia HS in 1954. When able, he attended the annual Alumni Banquet every year. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War and was retired from Dupont in Circleville. Ralph was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe. He was a very kind and thoughtful person and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Grant Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion during this difficult time. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Texas Roadhouse in Chillicothe. Ralph was a regular weekly customer there and they always made him feel special and kept him fed. He ate there almost every day. So, we thank you for your warmth and companionship over the last two years. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, May 17 at Calvary Baptist Church. Military graveside honors conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will take place during burial at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Massieville. Friends may call 11:00am – 1:00pm Wednesday at the church.
