Ralph Lenard "Lenny" Brown, 73, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 9:21pm Monday May 11, 2015, at National Church Residences-Chillicothe (Traditions) following an extended illness. He was born November 26, 1941, in Chillicothe, to the late Ralph C. and Katherine L. (Willis) Brown. On June 28, 1987, he married the former Rosemary "Candy" Trent, who survives. Also surviving are his children: Christina Mango, Tamiko (Kelvin Beard) Brown, Leroy (Kristin Shewalter) Brown, Cary Brown, Lenny Netter; sisters and brothers-in-law Christine (Virgil) Bayless; Dorothy (Doug) Jones; a brother Kenneth Brown; several grandchildren, including: Ronnie, Bianca, Shawna, Shawntel, Jamichael, Shawnee, Shawnice, Shayla, Leroy II, and Christopher; great-granddaughter Kayleigha; several nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law Betty (Carl) Winfield; and a special cousin John Brown. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Clifford L. Brown; sisters Jacqueline Fyffe and Charlene Brown; an infant sister Elizabeth Brown; and an infant brother. Lenny retired from Glatfelter in 2003, having worked over 35 years between Mead, New Page and Glatfelter. He served his country in the US Navy. He was an active member of First Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board as chairman, the church property manager and head of the bus ministry. He also enjoyed working as a landscaper. The family would like to thank the staff of Adena Health System, Adena Cancer Center, Adena Home Health and the staff of Traditions for their care, support and prayers. Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, May 16, at the First Baptist Church, 65 W. 4th St., with Rev. Jonathan McReynolds officiating, assisted by Pastor Eric Carson and Rev. Robert Hitchens. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8pm Friday at Haller Funeral Home, and Saturday, 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church.
