R. Sulzer

Rita Colleen Sulzer, 99, of Chillicothe, died at 3:15pm January 4, 2021, at her residence.   She was born May 1, 1921, in Charleston, WV, to the late Thomas I., III and Freda (Moore) Haggerty. On November 28, 1945, she married Dr. John R. Sulzer, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 5, 1999.   Surviving are their children: John R. Sulzer, Jr., Chillicothe, Joseph P. (Marta) Sulzer, Grove City, Gregory T. (Cheryl) Sulzer, Sun Lakes, AZ, Mary Brown, Chillicothe, Elaine Sulzer-Williams, Los Angeles, CA, Jane F. (Mark) Sizemore, Miamisburg, OH; grandchildren: Joseph, Jr., James, Jacob, Joshua Jack and Jaci Sulzer; Carrie (Brown) and John Moenster; Colleen (Chance) Sulzer-Houston, Erin Sulzer, Daniel and Gregory Williams, Steven Sizemore, Jessica (Sizemore) Tracy; great-grandchildren: Gwen Sulzer, Matilda Sulzer, Theo Sulzer, August Sulzer, Benjamin Sulzer, Jude Sulzer, Ashton Weber, Lena Colleen Moenster, Jayden Tracy and Maxwell Sizemore. She was predeceased by her sister Reba Rice and brother Thomas I. Haggerty IV.   Colleen was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a Daughter of Isabella. She also served as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader.   Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of the family under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends may attend the graveside service at 2pm Saturday, January 9, in St. Margaret Cemetery. Masks and social distancing required.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either: St. Peter Church, 285 W. Water St., Chillicothe; or Bishop Flaget School, 570 Parsons Ave., Chillicothe.
