Robert "Mike" Hall, 71, of Chillicothe passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Tuesday, November 14, 2018 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, following a brief illness.
He was born January 4, 1947 in Chillicothe to the late Harry W. and Naomi M. Hall. On September 5, 1970 he married his beloved wife of 48 years, Sandra Sutton, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Heather (Kevin Prater) Clark, Heidi (Steve) Clemmons, both of Chillicothe, and Ben (Amanda) Hall, of Kingston; five grandchildren, Ethan, Ellie, Tessa, Tommi Catherine and Hadley. He was preceded in death by a brother, William David Hall.
Mike was an avid entrepreneur and active member of the community. After a 24 year career with Wear-Ever, in which he became the youngest area supervisor in the history of the company, he went on to become co-owner of Phillips Rent-All. In 1991 he founded Advantage Tent Fittings, Inc. which has grown into an industry leading manufacturing company that serves customers in every state of the United States and Canada. For his business accomplishments he received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007 by the Ross County Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of his own business pursuits, Mike served as Chairman for the Ross Co. Chamber of Commerce from 1991-1992, and again in 2003, and recently as Chairman of Goodwill Industries of South Central Ohio. He was an avid golfer, active member of the Ross Co. Horseshoe Club, sports enthusiast, and passionate Unioto Alumnus. Mike brought great joy to the local community with his Christmas light display totaling more than 30,000 individual lights.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call 2-5 pm Sunday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or to Goodwill of South Central Ohio.
