Phyllis E. Wells, 87, of Chillicothe, died 1:30 pm, January 18, 2014, at Westmoreland Place Nursing Home, following an extended illness. She was born December 12, 1926 in West Carrollton, OH to the late Guy and Dorothy Taylor Tuttle. In 1955 she married Joe Wells, who died in 1999, with who she shared 39 years of marriage. Survivors include a son, Greg (Pamela) Wells, Chillicothe; a brother, Leonard Tuttle; sisters, Alma Wright, Betty Hooper, and Doris Peters; grandchildren, Cara (Gabe) Peecher, Stephanie, Josey, Justin, Harleigh, Kristie, Jordan, and Jackson Wells; a step-granddaughter, Bess Routte; great-grandchildren, Makenzy Wells, Aiden, Kennedi, Isaac and Elyn Peecher; and a special niece, she was very close to, Susan Seitz. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Wells. Mrs. Wells was a wonderful mother and grandmother and an excellent cook and baker. She loved to garden and dance. She formerly attended the First Presbyterian Church, later enjoyed the ministerial services provided by Liberty Village, and most recently attended Lighthouse Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Liberty Village staff, Westmoreland Place, third floor staff, and Pam Uhrig for their loving care of Phyllis. A celebration of her life will be held 6:00 pm, February 6, 2014 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Pastor Ryan Bevan officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following in the Fellowship Hall. Mrs. Wells will be entombed in Grandview Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
