Perky L. "Perk" Persinger, 71, of Kingston, died at 2:17am Monday, November 5, 2012, at Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born January 25, 1941, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Charles H. and Barbara L. (Mallott) Persinger. On September 26, 1972, he married the former Cathy J. Spangle, who survives. Also surviving are his sons William L. Persinger, Columbus; Kevin G. Persinger, Londonderry; and Brandon L. (Kimberly) Persinger, Chillicothe; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law Mark (Barbara) Persinger, Noblesville, IN; and brother Timothy McQueen, Green Castle, IN. He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter Julie Ann Johnson; and a sister Melodie Napolea. Perk was the general manager of Sumburger Restaurant before retiring in 2003. He continued to work there until 2006. He was an Army Paratrooper Veteran. He loved fishing, gardening, photography and riding both his motorcycle and motor scooter. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, November 8, at the Haller Funeral Home with James Rankhorn officiating.
