Peggy June Moss, 87, of Chillicothe, passed away early Wednesday morning on June 3, 2026 at her home with family by her side, following an extended illness.

She was born October 27, 1938 in Gallipolis, OH, daughter of the late John and Xelphia "Cricket" (Neal) Cray. On December 30, 1952, she married her beloved husband, Thomas "Tommy" Moss, and together they shared nearly 63 years of marriage before his passing on October 1, 2015.

Surviving are her daughter, Darlene Moss; grandchildren, Alisha Moss, Madison (Jeff) Magny, Jessica (Jarod) Taramasco, Jamie Moss, Ryan Moss, and Allison Moss; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her brother, Michael (Cathy) Cray; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Mark (Jane) Moss and Robin Moss; a granddaughter, Unique "Nikki" Tyler; her sister, Ginny (Jack) Wohler; and her two brothers, Richard Cray and Harvey Cray.

Peggy was a member of the First Church of God in Chillicothe and was an active member of the Ross County Senior Citizens Center. She shared a deep passion for archery along with her husband Tommy, where they each won numerous titles over the years. In her free time, Peggy enjoyed playing Mexican Train, cooking for her family, and traveling with them. She also loved walking outdoors, shopping, and watching her soap operas. She especially found joy in spending time with and lovingly caring for her beloved dog Susie and cat Nori.

A graveside service for Peggy will be held at St. Margaret Cemetery on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 12:00pm, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Tom.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Ross County Senior Citizens Center in Peggy's honor.
