Peggy began her working career on the family farm where she developed her love for animals. She leaves behind 3 beloved dogs, 2 cats and a bird. It was always known that she would take in any animal that was given to her. In her early days, she worked for the former Carroll Potato Chip Factory, then chose a career as a nursing assistant at the old Chillicothe Hospital, the Medical Center and then later retired from the VA Medical Center. She opened the doors of her home to her in-laws, Herschel and Mae Litter and cared for them until their dying days. Peggy also loved spending time with her very special friends, hosting pool parties, taking vacations and motorcycle trips throughout the United States. She loved cooking for large events, her specialty was homemade pies. She was a member of the Elks, B.P.O.E. Lodge #52 and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post #62. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She leaves behind a legacy of caring people. She was very passionate about the American Red Cross where she volunteered for several years. Her request was to donate her body to medical science. The Ohio State University Division of Anatomy fondly accepted her gift. There will be a celebration of her life announced at a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 181 N. Bridge St., Chillicothe, OH 45601. "Give blood; it saves lives!"
