Peggy M. Kennedy, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into rest on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on Wednesday, July 9, 1958, in Painesville, Ohio, Peggy was a cherished resident of Chillicothe, Ohio, where she spent her life nurturing her family and community.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Margaret Franz, her dear husband, Robert D. Kennedy, and her brother, Bobby Franz. Despite these profound losses, Peggy's life remained full with the love of her surviving family and friends.
She is survived by her 2 four legged kids, Brandy and Puppy, devoted children, John (Jeana) Kennedy, Angela Shorr, and Bob (Karen) Kennedy who brought her immense pride and joy. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Jayden, Jonah, Austin, Matthew, Cassie, and Jake who were the lights of her life. Peggy is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Linda Randa, Carol Brockway, Nancy Leyden, and Amy Hunt, and her brothers, Neil Franz Jr., Gary Franz, Jimmy Franz, and Steve Franz.
Peggy found solace and companionship in her good friend, Peggy Shoemaker, and her Earth Angels, Matthew & Emily Edler, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Professionally, Peggy was a dedicated Senior Branch Office Administrator at Edward Jones, where her diligence and warmth touched many colleagues and clients. Her passion for sunflowers as well as bluebirds, symbolizing the warmth, joy and happiness she brought to those around her.
She attended St. Peter Catholic Church. Peggy’s faith was an integral part of her life. Her kindness extended beyond family, as she actively participated in Big Brothers & Big Sisters when they first moved to Chillicothe, impacting countless young lives with her generosity and guidance. Her generosity extended with contributions to numerous charities which included St. Judes and disabled veterans.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community. In lieu of flowers, Peggy's wishes were to make any donations to the Adena Cancer Center or The James Cancer Center at Ohio State University.
There will be a Celebration of Peggy's Life at the families convenience in the near future.
Arrangements are entrusted to Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
