Peggy Lou Elam

Peggy L. (Chaffin) Elam, 78, of Chillicothe, Ohio passed away on July 11, 2026, following an extended illness. She was born on August 26, 1947, to the late Orpheus Chaffin and Martha (Elliott) Meadows. On November 15, 1965, she married Michael Elam, who survives. 

Also suriviving are son, Michael Elam II; grandson, Clay Elam; nieces Michelle Sonnacchio and Kathleen Bennett, as well as extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Bennett, and step-father, Harry L. Meadows.

Peggy worked at Taylor's IGA for over 20 years where she found many friends. She was a member of Tyler United Methodist Church. Peggy was very devoted to taking care of her husband, Mike and spending as much time as she could with her grandson, Clay. 

A service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 1:00pm at the Haller Funeral Home and Crematory. Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at the funeral home.
