Paul E. Woods, Jr., 78, of Chillicothe, died 10:25 pm, Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, following an extended illness.

He was born February 24, 1940 in Ross Co. to the late Paul E. and Dorothy Russell Woods. On February 22, 1997 he married Vicki Smith, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Jody Woods, Paul (Penni) Woods III, and Gregory (Laurie) Woods, all of Chillicothe, Chad (Nadine) Dresbach, Rock Hill, SC, Andrew Dresbach, York, SC, and Robin (Troy) Gardner, of Chillicothe; 10 grandchildren, Meghan, Amanda, Corey, Trevor, Benjamin, Gabriel, Rachael, Alexander, Morgan and Lauren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly (Sam) Cooper, Waverly; and his dog, Little Coach Woody Hayes. He was preceded in death by a sister, Etta Jean Woods.

Paul was a US Air Force veteran and member of AMVETS Post 4. He retired from Mead Paper in 1998, and was a member of the Mead Athletic Association. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in the Veterans League at the Forrest E. Everhart/VAMC Golf Course. He also loved his beach vacations and gardening.

Military graveside funeral services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard and Rev. Chris Brown, will be held 12:30 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the Elks Hall, W. Second St., where a celebration of Paul's life will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ross Co. Humane Society, 2308A Lick Run Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
