Paul L. Shreve, 86, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at his residence on July 28, 2021. He was born December 29, 1934, in Buckhannon, WV, to the late Walter N. Shreve and Helen J. (Ulderich) Shreve Osburn. On August 4, 1956, he married the former Evelyn J. "Duckie" Graham, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter and son-in-law Vicki Rae (Robert, Jr.) Snyder, of Londonderry; grandchildren: Denver E. Snyder, Chillicothe, Logan M. Snyder and Kirra B. Snyder, both of Londonderry; great-grandchildren: Kayleigh Evelyn Ann Campbell, Londonderry, and Oakley Mathias Snyder, Chillicothe; siblings Thomas E. (Donna) Shreve, Londonderry, Patricia A. Reger, Buckhannon, WV, Jane (Thomas) Deadrick, Morgantown, WV, Harold Joseph (Wanda) Osburn, New Castle, VA, and Linda Kitchen, Londonderry; a sister-in-law Marilyn Shreve, Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings: James N. Shreve, Leslie Leonard (Peggy) Shreve, and Terry Ray (Chris) Shreve; and a brother-in-law William Kitchen. Paul was a US Army Veteran having served as a tank operator patrolling the German-Czechoslovakian border during the Cold War. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for United Electric Construction Co. until he retired in 1996. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and the International Brotherhood of Operating Engineers. He loved hunting, fishing, attending church and being with his family. The family will receive family and friends from Noon until 1pm Monday, August 2, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Military graveside services will follow in Londonderry Cemetery with Pastor Mitch Salyers officiating.
